I have not written in such a long time my readers will not know what to think! I have been busy with facebook. I love facebook it keeps you so in touch with all your friends. You can write on each others wall or you can write on your profile page and there you can see what you have posted and what every one else has posted too.. It is an open forum. You can also instant message people to write in private or send them email through the site. It is awesome thats all I can tell you.. If you would like to take a look go to www.facebook.com and join.. I'm also an American Idol freak. I sang for 20 years, but have not been able to sing for 5 years. It was very hard for me to step down! To make it big in music you have to be one of three things. 1. The Best 2. Different 3. or the first at doing something new! I really never fit into any of the 3 catagories, but I have a really good ear. So I would love to be a judge.. My picks for the top 3 American Idol is Danny Goeke, Adam Lambert and Allison the red head. These 3 are already idols in my book. Hope you are out there and like Idol too so we can talk about it.. Take care!! Oh by the way it is Steve and my 32nd anniversary!!
This is a letter I wrote to a relative who is a liberal!!
Congratulations!!! We have a new President!!! Hopefully he will move towards more middle ground now that he has won and not go through with some of the things pledged.. Like cleaning up the coal industry and footing the bill on the consumers. Raising minimum wages only will cause higher prices and people being let go from their jobs.. Same with medical.. The small businesses will be made to cover their workers with medical benefits and they can't afford it which will cause more job loss.. No wait we will have equal medical for all, and that sure works in Canada!!!
Spread the wealth, allow the government to control more of our lives as if they do not control enough.. Yes this new administration will help the poor and those who won't work and those who are illegal in this country taking from your and our pockets.. Legalize gay marriages, save the whales, stop the drilling for oil in our own country.. Yes this is a great hour.. We will see increase in everything soon.. Then you can write to tell me how great it is to have the liberals in office... Until then we can just watch... I will admit I'm wrong if things get better, and don't tell me it is all the republicans fault for the debt we are in.. We know who was behind Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.. End of story!!
All this is amusing to me.. I would have voted for all this stuff when I was on drugs and living totally liberal.. A black man as president is defiantly my cup of tea then and now.. It was not always yours, my how times have changed!!
I just got home Saturday from a wonderful vacation.. We visited Mackinaw City and Island Michigan.. This was a wonderful place to stay right on the beach.. Our room had sliding doors that opened up to a balcony right on the beach!! You can click on any picture to make it bigger to see!! This is the horse Carriages for the island.. The one on the right was the one for the Grand Hotel and the one on the left was tour through the island.. The tour was 2 hours long and really enjoyable.. This Bed and Breakfast was my favorite.. I mean just look at all the beautiful flowers.. Their summer is not as harsh and the whole island has many flowers blooming.. Breathtaking!!! This is a picture of the Grand Hotel the most expensive hotel on the Island.. They charge 15 dollars to tour the place and their lunch buffet is 45 dollars.. If you have the lunch they take the 15 dollar tour fee off.. So you can tour and eat lunch for 30 dollars.. We thought we would go on the last day but we missed the ferry.. I would have liked to have seen this place.. Every room is decorated differently and some were decorated by celebrities like Jacquline Kennedy!!
The only way of transportation on the island was by horse, buggy, or bicycle.. No motor vehicles allowed except in winter they do have snowmobiles because they do not actually touch the ground..
The shops were all the same old same old .. They were famous for their fudge and it was really good. You could watch them making the fudge on great big tables.
The bridge on the left was the bridge crossing Lake Huron over to the upper part of Michigan.. The second bridge was going through customs into Canada!!!
Finally it was time to take the bridge on into UPPER Michigan then on into Canada for the last leg of our trip!!!
In Canada our Hotel room was a suite and WOW we could actually live in this space!!! We had the view of the Bay, a 42 inch LCD flat screen with HD TV and we were set for "The Closer" I did not want to leave our room...
The next day was our famous Train ride 114 miles into the wilds of Canada.. We were so excited..
Steve was also ready after taking his Dramamine to keep from getting sick.. Our seats were very comfortable.. During the trip there was a open food car.. Steve never ever left his seat unless to go to the mens room and he said even doing that was a chore, because standing up trying to hit a small hole in a moving train was almost impossible.. As for me I felt like Tommy Boy in that airplane bathroom trying to change his clothes.. It was so small!! A few times I made the trip to the food car about 4 train cars between us.. It wasn't all that easy either..
We saw a few lakes and 1 waterfall.. The trip was 10 hours and we were so bored.. Heading into the trip we had hope with expectation, but one the way home we decided the trip was a big bust.. I mean how many trees and rock walls do you need to see??? The next pictures you can see just how bored I was!!
OH My Goodness my mouth is hanging open... We were so glad when the trip was over even though we had another 10 hour trip back home the next day.. One word of advice.. Do not take the train ride in Canada!!
Well I was over taken with some pictures of a friends garden you can find him here on my friends if you want to take a look.. His name is Happy Pappy!! I have some pictures of last years harvest of flowers so I will show them off and then take this years for comparison..
Actually these pictures are from 2006.. We have made a lot of changes.. Wait till you see the new ones! We have an Amish bridge in the back overlooking a water fall and pond!! I will get to it in the next few days and get them online this week!!
Well Clay I know there are fakes, but I do know there is the real thing.. My niece was healed... read more
